OK, in my title I tell you the simple things that I cannot live without. However, I don't get enough characters to elaborate upon that. Almost all of the clothes that you see me wearing in the pics on this blog are from Coldwater Creek, Lands' End, Territory Ahead or Isabella Bird (the last two are owned by the same company). I also have some clothes from Chico's which I love to wear, but I've not ordered from here in Singapore. I will attempt to put the links to those catalogs in the sidebar on my blog. These catalogs have the best customer service I've encountered with on-line ordering as well as the best size consistency. I have ordered so many dresses from these online companies and have yet to return anything. Fortunately for me, I have a subscription to "Traditional Home", and there is always a $25-off coupon for Coldwater Creek (I hope they continue with that) which I use for the shipping costs. Most of the time, I order my things from the online sale or Outlet at the Creek sites.
At this point in my life, I'm just too "hot" to wear slacks or jeans here in Singapore. I feel I look my best wearing a dress or a skirt -- not to mention comfort. You really can't go wrong with any of the above-mentioned websites/catalogs. As I said before, I'll attempt to put the links on the sidebar.

Eindhoven & Amersfoort
After Amsterdam, we both went to Eindhoven -- Michael for meetings at Philips, me roaming the city. We stayed at the Dorint Hotel which was very nice. We ate at some good restaurants too, but unfortunately, I didn't write down the names of them.
On Wednesday, the 19th, Michael put me on a train to Amersfoort to visit Lucia (she just moved to Amersfoort from Singapore the 1st of April). He bought me a first-class ticket. After the second stop, I realized that I had missed my station! I then went on to Amsterdam, got off the train, and had to buy another ticket for a train back to Amersfoort. I was late arriving and Lucia was nice enough to stay at the station until I arrived. I wouldn't have known how to get to her apartment.
Amersfoort is a lovely medieval town. I couldn't get over how quaint it was compared to Amsterdam and Eindhoven. I walked for hours on end, mostly getting lost, but enjoying the nice spring days. After my first day exploring, I made it back to Lucia's apartment and looked more closely at the map. All that walking and I really never ventured far away at all. The city is like a huge maze because of the canals and small alleyways.
Lucia cooked some yummy Italian recipes for me to try: Penne with Escarole Sauce and a tuna dish with Italian bread. She also took me to a couple of very nice restaurants.

The Netherlands Trip
Michael had to go to Eindhoven for work, and I tagged along. We went to Amsterdam first. We stayed at the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel in the heart of the city. I think we must've walked for miles every day.
